Recipe: Everything Bagel Seasoning

I used to think bagels were incredibly average – basically a white bread roll with an inconvenient hole in the middle. That was until I discovered what a real bagel tastes like. Proper bagels are boiled and then baked so that they’ve got a perfect hard exterior but still soft inside.

And then there’s the seasonings, don’t even get me started. Bagel Zone has 14 different flavours ranging from the conventional poppy seed to a unique choc chip. But the ultimate flavour will always be the everything bagel.

This recipe re-creates the toppings of an everything bagel to enjoy on anything from avo toast to salad to hummus.

Green Apple Pie Smoothie

Serves 1
Prep time: 3 mins

  • 2 small apples or 1 large, chopped
  • 1/2 small banana
  • 1 cup raw spinach
  • 1/4 cup rolled oats
  • 1 tbs shredded coconut
  • 1/8 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tbs yogurt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • ice

What to do

  1. Put the milk* in your blender, then add all the other ingredients except the ice.
  2. Blend mixture until smooth and creamy. If your blender is having trouble, just add a splash more milk.
  3. Lastly, add a couple ice cubes and blend again.

*PRO TIP: Adding the milk first helps the ingredients blend quicker.
